Property Description

I remember the first time I saw her. Dark and moody with a coral front door smiling at me in a flirtatious kind of way. She was hiding. Tucked behind the trees overlooking the Chattahoochee. Mysterious Private like she owned the river and everything it carried. She did. Born in 1968, and dreamed into existence. Cedar and stone. Exposed beams reaching across open sky. Vertical spaces making you look up, then out, then inward. Picture windows so generous they feel more like portals to other dimensions. Three levels. One hundred and eighty degrees of river below you, sky above you, and nothing between you and all of it but glass. A mid-century modern soul with a Bohemian attitude. Every room has its own personality. Every space feels authentic and curated with raw, organic antiques and treasures from different parts of the world. You run your finger down the cedar banister imagining the parties and different characters who called this space home. The light bounces off the rock fireplace and makes dramatic shadows across the wood floor. The kitchen is delicious with warm cherry custom cabinetry and terrazzo counter tops from concrete collaborative. Every surface needs to be touched. You would give anything to call this kitchen yours. Upstairs the primary suite is swimming in natural light with breathtaking views of the river. There would be no reason to ever leave this room. PJ's all day with your favorite music playing in the background and another cup of tea. The owners bath features a full built-in cedar sauna offset with vintage tile and more attitude than your 13-year old daughter. Outside, 1.1 acres unfolds peaceful, natural water and leaves, birds and sky. Low maintenance by design, which is the only intelligent way to own land this beautiful. Why spend your weekends tending the grounds when the Chattahoochee is right there, moving through the valley below whispering secrets. Calm and steady. For the person who walked into every new development of identical ambition, and felt absolutely nothing. This house reaches out and grabs you by the collar. She says you have been settling. She says you knew better all along. Cedar. Stone. Glass. River. Sky. You thought you would never fall in love like this, but you were wrong. Here you have uncovered a new feeling a connection to nature. In her presence you've become someone different. She is a once in a lifetime home. Movies get filmed here. People fall in love. Parties never end. Walk away, and she becomes the standard. Every unremarkable kitchen, every perfectly fine backyard a painful reminder of what you let slip away. She is not waiting for you. She never waits. *** Don't miss full YouTube video walk through Search 225 River North Dr.*** SHOWINGS Start Friday***
